On June 28th, the delegation from Temasek Polytechnic in Singapore visited the college for exchange. Mr. Song Guoyun, Dean of the School of Engineering of Temasek Polytechnic, Mr. Chen Shuli, Senior Advisor of the President's Office (former Vice President), Mr. Han Ming, Chief Scientist, and Mr. Wang Gucheng, Director of the Clean Energy Research Centre; Prof. He Zhengyou, Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering of Southwest Jiaotong University, Prof. Feng Xiaoyun, Prof. Chen Weirong, Vice Dean Chen Minwu, and Vice Dean Liu Zhigang, Prof. Huang Deqing, participated in the meeting. Vice Dean Chen Minwu presided over the meeting.
First of all, Dean He Zhengyou expressed his warm welcome to the arrival of the delegation of Temasek Polytechnic. He said the College has long maintained friendly exchanges and co-operation with Temasek Polytechnic, and the two sides have established a good platform for exchanges in education, teaching, scientific research and talent training, and hope to further deepen the co-operation through this visit.
Vice Dean Chen Minwu made an introduction in terms of history, faculty, talent cultivation and scientific research achievements, emphasising the development plan in the direction of new energy, new materials and new devices. Director Wang Gucheng introduced the philosophy, mission and vision of Temasek Polytechnic, as well as the overview of student training, with a focus on the scientific research achievements and applications of the Clean Energy Research Centre in the field of new energy such as fuel cells and lithium batteries.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed the joint training of students, held preliminary discussions on the curriculum, selection of tutors and timetable for the exchange training of undergraduate and postgraduate students, and explored the potential scientific research cooperation, laying the foundation for the subsequent in-depth cooperation.
After the exchange, the delegation of Temasek Polytechnic visited the professional laboratories of the college.
