The 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macau Great Bay Area Advanced Rail Transit Summit

      On October 31st, the 2nd Guangdong-Hong Kong- Macau Great Bay Area Advanced Rail Transit Summitry was held in Shenzhen, sponsored by the Department of Mechanical and Transport Engineering of the Chinese Academy of Engineering(CAE), Southwest Jiaotong University(SWJTU) and National Rail Transit Electrification and Automation Engineering Technique Research Center(NEEC), to solve the cutting-edge scientific and technological problems and promote the scientific and healthy development of advanced rail transit in China based on the major demands of the national rail transit industrial development.

      The experts are Prof. Qian Qing-quan, CAE Academician, Gu Guo-biao, CAE Academician and Institute of Electrical Engineering Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Feng pei-de, CAS Academician, deputy director of the science of Chinese academy of sciences, China aviation industry corporation, Chen Guo-liang, CAS Academician and professor of ShenZhen University, Tan Jian-rong, CAE Academician and professor of ZheJiang University, Ding Rong-jun, CAE Academician and the chief scientist of ZhuZhou Electric Locomotive Research Institute, ZhangJun, CAE Academician, President of Beijing Institute of Technology and deputy director of CAE-MTE, Li Qing-quan, President of Shenzhen University, member of the Eurasia, Yang Hong, member of the Standing Committee of Shenzhen, Xu Jin, deputy director of CAE First Bureau, Zhu Jian-mei, Vice President of SWJTU, Liu Zai-min, deputy director of the Ministry of Industry and Electricity of China Railway Corporation, Zhou Wei, deputy director of Equipment Supervision and Management Department of the State Railway Bureau and other officials.

      The forum welcomed a series of speeches from Ding Rong-jun, Zhang Jun, Wang Dong, a professor from The Naval University of Engineering of PLA and Outstanding Youth Fund Winner, Mao Kai, Dean of Magnetic Levitation and Electromagnetic Propulsion Department of Aviation Industry Corporation of China, Ltd., Zhao Penglin, vice president of Shenzhen Urban Rail Transit Association and honorary consultant of Xiong’an New District, Zhang Xiao-chun, director of Shenzhen City Traffic Planning and Design Research Center, Gao Shi-bin, dean of NEEC, Xie Hailin, general manager of China Railway Maglev Traffic Construction Investment co. Ltd., Ni Yiqing, professor of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University and dean of NEEC Hong Kong Branch.

      Also, Du Xinyan, member of Academic Committee of Chinese Urban Rail Transit Association, Jiang Xianguo, design master of China Railway Design Group Co., Ltd., Gong Ming, dean of CRRC, Liu Baoming, dean of National Innovation Center of High-speed Train, He Lin, Guangzhou Metro Group, Zhao Yin-jun, deputy general manager of China Railway Electrification Bureau group, Kou Zong-qian, deputy general manager of China Railway Construction Electrification Bureau, Fan Jianguo, deputy general manager of China Railway Survey and Design Institute Group No.6 Branch, Tian Baohua, deputy general manager of China Railway Bureau Group No.23 Branch, Jian lian, deputy general manager of Shenzhen Metro Group, Zhu Kaiwei, chief engineer of Chengdu Rail Transit Group, Ji Minting, chief engineer of China Railway Baoqiao Group ,Yang Zhixin, office director of University of Macau, Chen Weirong, dean of SEE, SWJTU,etc.

      The opening speech was delivered by academician Zhang Jun, who said that in the new era, the development of rail transit should implement the strategic requirements of "traffic power". We should grasp the construction opportunities, and accelerate the research and engineering demonstration of disruptive and transformative technologies.


      Zhu Jianmei, vice president of SWJTU, pointed out , to be innovative, open and integrated, Guangdong-Hong Kong - Macao Bay needs to construct a convenient, civilized and environmental-friendly regional rail transit circle with suitable policies and mechanisms. She said that urban rail transit is an important support for realizing sustainable urban development. With social development, new and higher requirements have been put forward for the scientific and technological innovation of urban rail transit. SWJTU is willing to join hands with our counterparts, governments and enterprises at all levels to accomplish important strategic tasks.


      Academician Li Qingquan briefly introduced Shenzhen University, and expected to extensively cooperate with experts and scholars, and contribute wisdom and strength to the development of advanced rail transit.


      Yang Hong sincerely invites the experts and scholars at home and abroad to explore the independent innovation and scientific and technological progress of rail transit.
