The Opening Ceremony for new undergraduates in 2018 was held at School of Electrical Engineering on September 1, 2018.
Leaders and guests attending the opening ceremony are: Prof. Chen Wei-rong, Dean of SEE, Prof. Gao Shi-bin, Dean of NEEC, Prof. Zhao Duo, deputy dean of SEE, Prof. He Zhengyou, deputy dean of SEE, Prof. Ma Lei, deputy dean of SEE, Prof. He Xiaoqiong, deputy dean of SEE and deputy dean of NEEC, Prof. Xie Shaofeng, deputy dean of SEE, Prof. Song Wensheng, dean assistant of SEE, Prof. Liu Zhi-gang, Prof. Han Zheng-qing, deputy dean of Electrical Engineering Department, Prof. Jiang Qi-long, director of Power Electronics and Power Transmission Engineering Department, Prof. Yu Zhibin , deputy director of Electronic and Information Engineering Department, Prof. Fan Bing, director of School Affairs, Prof. Wang Yi, party secretary of the college and 2018 tutors. Besides, all the undergraduates and postgraduate attended it. The opening ceremony was hosted by Mr. Chen Yong, deputy party secretary of the college. With the solemn national song, the opening ceremony officially kicked off.
In his address, Dean Chen Wei-rong extended his congratulations and welcome to the students and expressed the hope that they could realize their life goals at the School of Electrical Engineering. Dean Chen encourages all the freshmen to forge ahead, strive for self-improvement, learn from the struggling spirit of electrical predecessors, carry forward the electrical spirit of "being virtuous and innovative", cherish youth and become outstanding.
Prof. Zhao Duo, announced the name list of 2018 counselors and tutors. They bowed to the students one by one with warm applauses from the freshmen.
Prof. Liu Zhi-gang as a teacher representative shared his life stories to encourage freshmen to strive for their goals.
Yu Bin, as a postgraduate representative and Ji Yingxue, as a freshmen representative, delivered speeches to tell the new students their coming lives on campus.
