Recently, the latest researches in the field of electrical engineering and electro-technical materials have been published online in Nature. The paper, Peptide Programming of Supramolecular Vinylidene Fluoride Ferroelectric Phases is written by Dr. Yang Yang as the first author, who is a 2010 undergraduate of our college majoring in Electrical Engineering & Automation.
The paper reports a new class of water-soluble degradable supramolecular ferroelectrics that achieve a coercive field two orders of magnitude lower and higher thermodynamic stability than ferroelectric copolymers. The invention may expand the potential of soft ferroelectrics for future applications in resorbable bioelectronics, energy catalysis and ultra-low-power devices. The results were also simultaneously highlighted in the prestigious international journal Science (doi: 10.1126/science.zaibifc).
Dr. Yang Yang is currently an assistant researcher at Northwestern University, U.S.A. He graduated from Mao Yisheng class, School of Electrical Engineering, Southwest Jiaotong University, in 2014. Focusing on the research and development of sustainable electrical materials and their related green energy equipment, he has published 30 papers, including 9 papers as first or corresponding author, including Nature (independent first author), Nature Nanotech (independent first author), Sci. Adv., Adv. Sci and Matter, etc. He has granted 3 international (PCT) and 3 Chinese patents each. His academic researches have been reported 30 times by global media, including highlights in Science, Nat. Rev. Mater. and Matter. He has been awarded the 2022 Caixin Sun and Stan Grzybowski Young Scholar Achievement Award from IEEE DEIS and other honors.
